In 2019, Sescom acquired Sescom Forklift, a company specializing in the sale, rental, and service of forklifts. This acquisition marked a significant step in Sescom’s expansion into the forklift industry.
In 2024, a major milestone occurred as DT Sp. z o.o., a renowned provider of forklifts and high-quality services, officially transitioned to Sescom Forklift. This name change underscores the company’s commitment to growth and its strong affiliation with the Sescom Europe Group, a leading player in technical services for retail chains.
The decision to rebrand DT Sp. z o.o. to Sescom Forklift was driven by several key factors. The Olsztyn-based company’s proven service quality, ability to optimize operations, expansion focus, industry experience, and the entrepreneurial spirit of its owners, Radosław Rzeźniak and Krzysztof Pietrulewicz, made it an ideal fit for Sescom.
Since the acquisition, Sescom has maintained a high degree of autonomy for Sescom Forklift. This approach, as emphasized by Sławomir Halbryt, President of Sescom, involves supporting and empowering the company’s management while fostering a culture of commitment, participation, credibility, and transparency.
Radosław Rzeźniak, Commercial Director of Sescom Forklift, highlights the positive impact of the partnership with Sescom. He notes that the collaboration has enabled the company to expand its reach, serve customers nationwide, and better meet the diverse needs of its clients.
By combining the strengths of both companies, Sescom Forklift is poised to become a leading player in the forklift market. The company’s focus on customer satisfaction, quality services, and technological advancements positions it for continued growth and success.
Now, let’s delve into the interview with Radosław Rzeźniak to learn more about the company’s operations, challenges, and future plans.
When did you know that forklifts were the industry where you wanted to develop?
Radosław Rzeźniak: I’ve been in this industry for 25 years – I started as a rank-and-file employee at Jungheinrich. As I gained professional experience, I saw the significant potential of this industry and the opportunity for growth, which encouraged me to think about starting my own business.
And what was before that? What is your professional profile?
R.R.: I graduated from a technical school specializing in automobiles, so my very first professional steps were related to authorized car service centers such as Citroen, Opel, and Mercedes. The next stage was the aforementioned forklifts, and finally, the founding of my own company, DT Sp. z o.o., which I have been running with my partner Krzysztof Pietrulewicz since 2010. In addition to my professional experience, studies in Corporate Finance helped me in running my own business.”
You’ve known Krzysztof for years. Do these close relationships make it easier or harder to run a business? Do you agree on everything, or on the contrary, do you have different opinions and have to compromise?
R.R.: It’s true, we’ve known each other for years, and our relationship has a positive impact on running the company. Although we are completely different, we have clearly defined tasks and a division of responsibilities in the company. We can always count on each other, and in strategic matters, we talk and choose the best worked-out option, making decisions together.
You both say that relationships build business. How do you divide the work?
R.R.: Krzysztof is responsible for the operational department – he supervises the service work, I am responsible for the company’s development. This division arose naturally and suits us both.
What about the rest of the team – what can you tell us about them?
R.R.: We are lucky with people, I can say that boldly, because our team is a group of ambitious, inventive specialists with a sense of humor – a great team, I couldn’t have wished for a better one. We enjoy spending time together.
Since 2019, you’ve been part of the Sescom Group. What changes has this brought for your company?
R.R.: A real breakthrough was starting cooperation with Sescom S.A. in servicing nationwide hypermarket chains. Today, Sescom Forklift is a company capable of serving customers throughout Poland, with a fleet of rental warehouse vehicles. We took advantage of Sescom’s customer portfolio to strengthen our offer and better meet the needs of new contractors. We see that this cooperation brings benefits to both our company and our partners, strengthening our position on the market and accelerating the further development of Sescom Forklift.
Congratulations on the recent rebranding! Can you tell us more about the decision to move from DT Sp. z o.o. to Sescom Forklift?
R.R.: This step is primarily an expression of our commitment to the further development of the company and our desire to support it more strongly, for example, by emphasizing our belonging to the Sescom Group – a leader in the technical services industry for retail chains.
Together with the former DT Team, we want to strengthen the value for the customer, which consists of: nationwide reach, efficient execution of large orders, a solid and flexible offer, and a guarantee of quality and attractive price. We are convinced that this recent change is another step towards the future, in which Sescom Forklift Sp. z o.o. becomes a key, nationwide player in the forklift market and related services.
How does Sescom Forklift deal with the challenges and trends in the forklift industry, such as automation, electrification, and supply chain disruptions?
R.R.: The automation of forklifts, including the development of autonomous AGVs, is one of the trends we observe. For now, it is still an expensive technology that may soon become commonplace. No wonder, since thanks to it, you can optimize working time in the warehouse and use resources more efficiently.
And how does ecology relate to this?
R.R.: Due to the growing demand for ecological solutions, we are supplying more and more electric forklifts. The use of lithium-ion batteries has been very popular for some time now, but in my opinion, we cannot escape environmental responsibility or high energy prices in a dynamically changing environment. As Sescom Forklift, we are constantly looking for practical solutions and applications that will contribute to energy savings for our customers.
Does the supply chain disruption affect you?
R.R.: Fortunately, all our factories are located in the EU, so we are not currently affected by the supply chain disruption.
What opportunities do you see in the future of the forklift market?
R.R.: Our expectations are usually related to key trends in the forklift market, in which we see an opportunity. We also closely monitor the prevailing standards and technological changes that shape this industry. The key is to keep up with all this and the needs of our customers.
What are your development plans for this year?
R.R.: First of all, we are working on new projects and the development of the service network. This is part of our strategy, which aims to better adapt to the market needs and strengthen our position in the industry.
As Sescom Forklift continues to grow and innovate, we’re excited to see what the future holds for the company and the forklift industry.
