Robert Mielcarz blends his background in training and sales with technical expertise and fluent English in his role as a Sales Engineer. He takes pride in knowing his work directly enhances the shopping experience for customers of major retail chains.
When did you start working with Sescom?
Exactly two years ago, in early 2023.
What attracted you to this role?
The chance to work on a nationwide project stood out, along with the opportunity to apply my training skills in a completely new industry.
How has your role evolved?
Two years might not sound like much, but for me, it’s been nonstop growth—my responsibilities keep expanding, and I expect that to continue.
Describe your professional background.
I’m a trainer, instructor, and sales professional with certifications in personal development, marketing, and sports.
What did you study?
The humanities—political science and physical education 😉. Tech has always been part of my life (thanks to my parents’ business), and I even attended an electronics-focused high school. But I switched fields for one simple reason: I loathe math.
What were you doing before Sescom?
I spent years in sales, climbing from sales rep to team manager. Side note: I’m passionate about bodybuilding, which led me to launch a personal training business in 2017. The pandemic forced a pivot, pushing me toward more stable industries.
You were promoted to Sales Engineer in February—congrats! What’s new?
Thanks! Now I’m the technical bridge between our Sales Team and clients, especially for our RFID development projects.
Key skills for your role?
Versatility. You need salesmanship (pitching, relationship-building, negotiating) paired with technical chops (systems, processes, hardware). Oh, and fluent English—non-negotiable. 😊
What do you love about your job?
The autonomy and responsibility. Plus, seeing my work impact everyday shoppers nationwide. And the travel—I logged 70,000 km across Poland in my first year!
Sescom Digital crushed its targets last year. What’s the secret?
Easy: our team. We trust each other, which lets us tackle “impossible” tasks. This year, we’re doubling down on RFID innovation and client expansion—wish us luck!
Highlights of the past year?
Professionally, rising to every challenge. Personally? My son was born in June—hands-down the best moment.
Your proudest achievement?
Success isn’t about one project. It’s showing up daily, exceeding expectations, and thinking outside the box. The pride follows.
Describe yourself in three words.
“Charismatic detail-obsessive.” I juggle tasks easily, but my eye for tiny flaws can drive me (and others) a little crazy. 😊
You’re into mobile photography and drones—hobby or side hustle?
Both! It ties into my love for fitness and adventure. I’m plotting ways to merge these passions—stay tuned. For now, I use these skills to document Sescom’s projects.
Free time?
Parenting means “free time” is theoretical 😅. Pre-kids, it was gym time and mountain hikes. I’ll get back there… eventually.
